Keeneland Race Track Fall Meet

This painting stemmed from a workshop I recently participated in. The teacher explained that a good painting translates how you feel about a place, instead of just the place itself. Nothing is more beautiful to me than fall in Kentucky and if you're familiar with Keeneland Race Track in Lexington, KY you already know it's one of the most stunning places to be this time of year.

All this to say that this painting, to me, gives the feeling of a warm sweater, cool, crisp air but yet the warmth of the sun, the smell of autumn, maybe burgoo or bread pudding, the sounds of pounding hooves and the laughter of friends. It's calming, yet exciting.
