Aimee Griffith, Official Artist of the Kentucky Derby
Aimee started creating and selling art in 2017 and in 2021 she got the call that she had been selected as the Official Artist of the Kentucky Derby. As a Kentucky girl, she was beyond honored to have been selected among such artists as Jim Cantrell, Tyler Robertson and Tony Bennett.
The commission included creating two paintings: one for the Derby and one for the Oaks, to be sold as posters and other merchandise and was featured on the official programs (also featured in Jack Harlow's song "Churchill Downs"). The honor includes poster signings throughout Kentucky, including Keeneland and the Churchill Downs Museum, leading up to the big event with signings on Oaks and Derby day in Churchill Downs.
Even better, Aimee was able to attend the Kentucky Derby for the very first time!
