Born and raised in Bardstown, KY, the bourbon capital of the world, and currently residing in Lexington, KY, the horse capital of the world, Aimee chooses to focus her watercolor subjects on what else? Bourbon and horses.

Inspired by art her whole life, at the age of 32 she attended a watercolor workshop while on vacation in 2016, opened an Etsy shop in 2017, and was selected to be the official artist of the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks in 2021. Watercolor is her primary medium because of the luminosity, the gradients and the unexpected nature of watercolor mixing and layering. The magic is in the mixing and settling of the paint as it dries.
